In support of International Women’s Day on 8 March, Bristol economics undergraduates, Esther and Durra, celebrate the achievements of two female economists that have inspired them.
In their video, BSc Economics student, Durra, talks about pioneering British economist, Mary Paley Marshall (1850 – 1954). BSc Economics and Finance student, Esther, then goes on to discuss why she admires Nigerian economist, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala (1954 – present).
Esther says: “Today’s a day to celebrate everything women have worked for and continue to strive for.”
Durra adds: “These women have shown us that we can go far and beyond. So in conjunction with this year’s theme, #AccelerateAction, we should make big changes.”
