Exploring Economics: Student Societies at Bristol

Women in Finance Society at the University of Bristol

Introducing some of the academic student societies that are especially relevant to Bristol Economics students.

Whether you are looking to gain industry exposure, expand your network or deepen your knowledge in a specific area, Bristol has a student group that’s right for you. With 400 sports clubs and societies, one of the highest numbers of any SU in the country, you can explore opportunities across academic, culture, international communities, sports, arts and endless hobbies and interests. There truly is something to suit everyone.

We caught up with some of the economics-related student societies (student groups) at this year’s Welcome Fair to hear more about what they offer.

Watch the video:

“We’ve got an analyst programme with five different divisions and each of those can be different industry analysis of operative thoughts on the on the market. It’s great if you’re interested in going into finance because it counts as work experience.” said Emma, Bristol Trading Society.

“We prepare members to break into the industry, tell them about the roles in finance, connect them with our alumni and other networking opportunities. We have sponsored events, career focus workshops, and we try to represent the industry as broadly as possible with events that make you feel like you’re in it already. Explained Oram, Banking and Investment Society.
