Krishna Pendakur delivered a number of talks during his visit to the University of Bristol as part of the Institute of Advanced Studies’ Benjamin Meaker Visiting Professorships.
Through the Benjamin Meaker Visiting Professorships, the Department of Economics has been host to a number of notable academics such as Jim Albrecht, Oliver Hart and most recently, Krishna Pendakur.
Krishna is currently a Professor of Economics at Simon Fraser University, Canada. His research focuses on consumer demand econometrics, with an emphasis on the measurement of the cost-of-living, inequality, discrimination and poverty, in a variety of international contexts.
Dr Chris Muris, Reader in Economics at the University of Bristol, hosted Krishna for the duration of his stay at Bristol. During his time here, Krishna provided a series of talks including an Economics Seminar on Inefficient Collective Households: Abuse and Consumption.
